TMC Announces Regular Organizational Changes

 

Toyota City, Japan, December 19, 2014―Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces the following regular organizational changes to take effect on January 1, 2015.

Organizational Changes

A. Unit Center

The Unit Management Division will be reorganized. The Die & Mold Division will be reorganized and also renamed.

Aim

In order to increase the pace and efficiency of management functions at the Teiho Plant, which is the responsibility of the Unit Management Division, operations will be transferred to the Die & Mold Division and the division will be renamed to reflect the division's operations (unit die engineering).

Kamigo Plant Administration Division and Shimoyama Plant Administration Division will be reorganized.

In addition, an integrated Quality Control Division for both the Miyoshi Plant and Myochi Plant will be established to reinforce quality audit functions.

The IT & ITS Planning Division will be renamed.

Overseas parts and special equipment functions, which are handled by both the C&A Development Division and the Parts and Accessories Division, will be consolidated in the C&A Operations Division.

By integrating all aspects of overseas parts operations from planning and development to sales and quality assurance, the aim is to establish an organization that can respond in a more timely manner to market needs.

E. R&D Group

Divisions in the Electronics Engineering Field will be reorganized and renamed.

The Electronics Advanced Development Division will be established to consolidate cutting-edge advanced development operations for 2020 and beyond within the field in order to reinforce cutting-edge advanced development.

Powertrain control (Electronics Development Division 2) and chassis control (Electronics Development Division 4) will be consolidated to respond to the advancement of cutting-edge safety (collaborative control of driving, turning, and stopping) and to support the development of human resources for electronic control engineering.

In addition, the division names will be changed to more precisely reflect their operations.

The Fuel Cell System Engineering Field will be reorganized.
